Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Typography
In her most recent work, Pia translates the typographic explorations of her paintings into multi layered reliefs. The large scale textual sculptures seem to have organically grown beyond the canvas, creating a lace like ornament. Letters become abstract shapes, then turn into unique patterns of complex dimension.

  • MEMEME
MEMEME is a sculptural piece exploring the formation of unique and dynamic patterns through three dimensional typographic repetition. The actual word gradually looses its meaning to become an abstract shape eventually blending into a stunning 3d pattern. The piece encourages the viewer to move inside and around it while engaging with subtle reflection.

  • BEAUTY
In her most recent work, Pia Habekost collaborates with adNAU's Tino Schaedler to translate the typographic explorations of her paintings into large scale urban sculptures nestled between street art and site specific land art. The sculptures are woven into surfaces of existing architecture like 3d graffiti. Through subtraction and addition, the typographic swarms oscillate between ornament and built form transforming its context.
